Tribal revenge in Iraq and the ransoming of women ( blood-money -marriage)

Abstract

Alfasliyah ( blood-money-marriage) is the woman that given as a ransom to the family or kin of the victim from the tribe of the culprit, as a punishment in the tribal customs for committing some sort of crimes like murder or theft or libel ..etc. the goal of that is satisfy the victim and prevailing reconciliation between the victim and the culprit instead of grudges and enmity. It is an old custom like many other customs came back to the surface in the Iraqi society after the political chaos that rante the tribe a commanding and important role which made by the individuals who resort to tribe to get safety and security which the tribe can provide. Blood-money-marriage is force marriage without the consent of the woman, so it is illegitimate in the view of the religion, and it is against the code (6) of the Iraqi law for individuals which conditional to consent and acceptance willingly. Due to the importance of tribal role in contribution to the political and social process. It is necessary to urge the tribes to be committed to what agree with the law and religion specifically in the subject of Alfasliyah ( blood-money-marriage) which is a bald violation of the human rights
