Abstract
ABSTRACT The current research aims at finding the effect of suggested small games program on developing attention ability for fourth graders . The researchers used descriptive method due to its appropriateness . The researchers used Hantoosh's (1978) tool adapted for Iraqi environment to measure attention . Stability , reliability and objectivity were done using the test of drawing (100) houses missing one line for one minute . In this test , the student completes the missing line . Society of the research was (72) fourth graders at Basseka elementary school for boys in Nineveh governorate . (12) pupils were excluded to undergo pilot experiment . The final number of the pupils became (60) representing two equal groups chosen randomly . The first group (division A) used the suggested program . The second group (division B) used traditional method . Equivalence between both groups in the variables of (age , height , weight) and the choice of attention scale was achieved . The suggested experimental program lasted (6) weeks to fall in two educational units per week Each unit lasts (40) minutes . After finishing the experimental program , post tests of attention scale for both groups were done . Data were collected and statistically treated by using (SPSS) program . The researchers concluded : 1- The suggested program of small games achieved important enhance in developing attention for fourth graders . 2- The traditional method made limited enhance in developing attention for fourth graders . 3- Superiority of experimental over control group in developing attention for fourth graders.
